We're on a mission to transform education by helping every student discover how they learn best, backed by rigorous psychology research and a passion for closing the learning gap.
Every decision we make is guided by our commitment to evidence-based learning, student empowerment, and accessibility for all.
Every feature is grounded in peer-reviewed cognitive psychology research. We don't follow trends—we follow the science of how humans actually learn and retain information.
Learning isn't one-size-fits-all. Our platform adapts to each student's unique cognitive profile, ensuring every learner gets the personalised support they deserve.
Quality education shouldn't be a privilege. We're committed to making psychology-backed learning tools available to students across Ireland and beyond, regardless of background.
Mind the Gap is built on decades of cognitive psychology research. Here are the key findings that inform our approach.
Research by Ebbinghaus and modern cognitive scientists shows that spacing out learning sessions dramatically improves long-term retention. Our algorithm schedules reviews at optimal intervals based on your performance and cognitive profile.
Studies demonstrate that actively retrieving information from memory is far more effective than passive review. Our platform emphasises testing yourself over re-reading, leading to 2-3x better retention rates.
John Sweller's research on working memory limitations informs how we present information. Our interface is designed to minimise extraneous cognitive load whilst maximising germane processing for deeper learning.
Research in learning styles, chronotypes, and cognitive preferences shows that personalisation matters. Our 12-question diagnostic identifies your unique learning fingerprint across multiple validated dimensions.
Mind the Gap was founded by twin sisters Aimee and Ashlee Keogh, 19-year-old recent graduates from Tallaght Community School who experienced firsthand the gap between how we're taught to study and how our brains actually learn.
What began as a Young Scientist project in 2023 has evolved into an award-winning mission to transform education. Over three years of dedicated research, Aimee and Ashlee investigated the "intention-action gap": why students struggle to follow through on their study plans, and developed evidence-based solutions.
Their work earned them 3rd place at the 2024 BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, and 1st place in the Social and Behavioural Sciences category at the 2025 exhibition. Their achievement secured them selection as one of five projects to represent Ireland at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
As TEDx alumni and passionate advocates for women in STEM, the Keogh twins are proving that the best innovations come from those who understand the problem firsthand. They're building the study platform they wish they'd had: one that actually understands how each student learns best, backed by science and built by students, for students.
Be among the first to experience psychology-backed learning tailored to how your brain works.
